Using digital health strategies to deliver mental health support to parents of children
ages 5-9 with type 1 diabetes
STUDY DETAILS
This study is funded by the BCCHR’s Diabetes Transformation Project and investigates a
peer support intervention for parents of children with T1D ages 5-9 and receiving care at the
diabetes education centers at BC Children’s Hospital, Nanaimo Hospital, and Campbell River
Hospital. The intervention involves four monthly zoom-based group sessions co-facilitated by
a clinical psychologist and a trained young adult and ongoing peer support between session
delivered by research participants.
