REACHOUT-NexGEN: a virtual care platform for peer-led mental health support in adolescents with type 1 diabetes

This study is funded by BCCHR’s Digital Health Accelerator Research Award REACHOUT and utilizes peer support and digital health strategies to provide mental health (MH) support to adolescents with T1D who access care at the Diabetes Clinic at BC Children’s Hospital and Diabetes Education Centres in the Interior Health Authority. It provides a virtual care platform with one-on-one and group support, asynchronous discussion boards, and synchronous video huddles, which was co-developed with a T1D adult-led intervention design team.
